Ford Ranger XLT – Fleet

Built for the job.

This Ranger spec is built for crews who live out of the canopy and can’t afford downtime. A chassis-mounted aluminium canopy in polished chequer plate, tight storage that actually fits real gear, and OEM safety systems refitted so the vehicle drives like it should — just smarter.

Why we built it this way

Fleet work is rhythm: load, drive, access, repeat. We’ve kept weight down with a chassis-mount canopy and organised the interior so tools have a home and hands don’t hunt. The finish is fleet-proof – polished chequer plate with black hardware – and the whole package is repeatable across multiple units for consistent fit, function, and branding.

Stand-out features

The canopy sits directly on the chassis for strength without dead weight and is sized to work across your fleet at L 1700 × W 1840 × H 900 mm. Outside, it’s all business: a heavy-duty roof system with over-cab extension and wind fairing carries long ladders and stock; under-tray we’ve integrated dual toolboxes, while the tail end runs LED tail and number-plate lights with protective surrounds, proper mudguards and flaps, plus twin air vents and a dedicated external electrical inlet. We remove the factory tub as part of the process, and because safety matters, we refit the factory reverse camera and sensors, and blind-spot monitors with new brackets and recalibration – so the driver aid suite stays live after the swap.

Inside is built like a mobile workshop, not a guessing game. On the left wall, two aluminium drawers (checkerplate finish) at 300 mm high, 1015 mm wide and 795 mm deep; on the right, two more at 300 mm high, 1015 mm wide and 885 mm deep — with a planned 500 mm service space behind to the rear of the canopy so access and wiring stay civilised. A full-height internal partition ties drawers to the ceiling for load separation, and a mesh ceiling rack/shelf spans the rear section for lightweight, high-use items. Down low, there’s provision for an under-tray drawer for the long, flat gear every crew carries. Lighting is sorted with three Korr 100 cm orange/white dimmable strips inside for glare-free night work and two ATOM 25 W wide-flood work lamps out back. We hard-wire the canopy (charge feed included), add remote central locking to both doors, and finish the front with a STEDI Ranger grille kit — dual ST3303 PRO 11-inch light bars, brackets, high-beam adapter and harness — installed alongside the rear work lights and internal lighting as part of the workshop fit.

The result

A Ranger that loads faster, stays organised and keeps the driver’s safety tech intact. Consistent spec from unit to unit means crews don’t need to relearn layouts — they just get on with the job.
