A Tasman Built to Work
The 2025 Kia Tasman X-Line arrives as a fresh player in the dual-cab world, but once it’s fitted with a chassis-mounted aluminium canopy, it turns into something far more capable than a standard tub-and-liner setup. Finished in Tan Beige with a mix of colour-matched panels and Raptor-coated components, this build takes Kia’s sleek styling and extends it into a proper touring system that feels cohesive, balanced and OEM-plus.
Why This Tasman Build Works
Kia designed the Tasman with modern technology and strong cabin comforts; our job was to give it the storage, durability and practicality it needs to perform in real touring conditions. The 1700 × 1840 × 930 mm canopy sits level with the cab for a factory flow. The frame, guards, toolboxes, tail-light covers and rear fascia are Raptor coated for impact resistance, while the canopy doors, vents and toolbox lids are painted in Tan Beige to keep the profile clean. With black handles and tight symmetry, the setup gives the Tasman a grounded stance that’s functional during the week yet premium enough for long-range travel.
Stand-Out Features
The exterior is built around everyday usability. A chassis-mounted aluminium canopy forms the backbone, paired with two under-tray toolboxes, a lockable rear door, LED tail lights with surrounds, mudguards, mudflaps, air vents and an electrical inlet. The aluminium wheel arch flares are powder-coated and Raptor finished for durability. A 60 L under-tray water tank provides gravity-fed supply, and an under-tray trundle drawer offers secure, low-access storage with a colour-matched fascia. Every part of the system fits the Tasman’s proportions, keeping it modern, neat and practical.
Inside the Canopy
The interior layout is simple, durable and geared for regular use. A Bushman 85 L Upright Fridge is installed with a marine-carpeted surround for a premium finish. All internal surfaces are carpeted for noise reduction and insulation. Central locking is fitted to all canopy doors for secure, keyless access. The wide openings and uniform storage layout make the interior easy to load, clean and organise, whether it’s work gear during the week or camp equipment on the weekend.
Power and Systems
The wiring layout is integrated with the Tasman’s OEM systems, including reinstallation of the factory reverse camera, sensors and Blind Spot Monitoring. A fuel filler neck and lockable cap are required when removing the tub, and are included in the setup. Central locking is installed on all three doors, and all wiring is completed to manufacturer standards. As this is one of the first 2025 Tasman builds, additional time is allocated to ensure perfect fitment and correct integration with Kia’s new electronics.
