Mazda BT-50 Canopy — Trade-Ready Setup

Trade Ready, Time Smart

This isn’t a weekend showpiece. It’s a workhorse built to keep an electrician moving—fast access, clean wiring, and a canopy that shrugs off the day’s chaos and looks sharp doing it.

Why we built it this way

We kept weight down with a chassis-mounted aluminium canopy and laid out the storage so you can grab, stow, and roll without thinking. It’s colour-coded i to look factory – and sized to work: L 1700 × W 1850 × H 900 mm to stay balanced and useful.

Stand-out features

The canopy runs a tidy two-door layout for full-width access, with a heavy-duty roof system that extends 600 mm over the cab for ladders and long stock. Underneath, dual under-tray toolboxes handle the daily kit while the main bay is divided by a large internal partition set to suit Milwaukee Packout – bring us your box and we’ll measure it in so it fits like a glove. The back end is all business: LED tail lights, LED number-plate lighting, tail-light guards, mudguards, mud flaps, and air vents to keep dust management on point. A rear roof visor keeps glare down, an external electrical inlet keeps charging simple, and the whole lot locks up with remote central locking and door-open warning buzzers so nothing gets left swinging on site.

We refit the factory reverse camera, sensors, and blind-spot monitors so all the OEM safety tech stays live after canopy is fitted. Inside, the electrics are specced for real workdays—a DCDC-charged lithium system with internal lighting, charging sockets, a compact inverter, and rear work lights—so you can crimp, label and test without juggling torches. There’s an under-tray drawer and the overall finish is the good stuff: straight lines, tight clearances, and a 2PAC body-colour that matches the cab perfectly.

The result

A BT-50 that’s quicker to load, cleaner to work from, and calmer to drive between jobs. Less faff. More billable hours.
