Landcruiser 300 Series GXL

Purpose-Built. Practical. Polished.

A 2025 GXL 300 Series Dual Cab in Dusty Bronze is already a handsome brute – but once you add on a full-time chassis-mounted canopy, it turns into something far more serious.
This build transforms the platform into a travel-ready workspace and living zone: colour-matched aluminium, smart systems, seamless storage, and reliable power designed for long days, remote tracks, and the kind of trips you don’t want to rush.

Why We Built It This Way

The 300 Series gives you capability straight out of the box – torque, cooling, stability – all the bones you need. But it’s the canopy structure and electrical backbone that decide whether you’re simply touring… or actually thriving off-grid.

We engineered this setup around an extruded-aluminium spaceframe, mounted directly to the chassis for confidence and strength. The Dusty Bronze colour coding ties the canopy into the cab with a factory-level finish, while Sahara Black elements give it depth, contrast, and a bit of attitude. The carry bars align perfectly with the customer’s Rhino Rack, setting height, airflow and solar placement exactly where they need to be.

Every detail balances durability, weight, and visual harmony – built for people who use their vehicles, not just park them up for photos.

Stand-Out Features

The canopy measures 2000 mm long × 1960 mm wide × 900 mm high, sized to sit neatly behind the cab without dominating the profile. Twin full-width doors open the entire side of the canopy, and with under-tray toolboxes, flared guards, and sequential LED taillights, the exterior is both functional and refined.

Under the tray, an 80 L water tank feeds to the rear, with a trundle drawer hidden above it for tools and long gear.
On the left, twin lockable jerry holders sit tucked in cleanly; on the right, a fixed spare-wheel mount keeps weight forward where it belongs. The rear wall carries a high-mounted 240V inlet, a neat Starlink socket, and the twin camera setup – one facing traffic, one aimed straight at the towball.

The bull bar and front-end hardware complete the touring package: a colour-coded ARB Summit bar paired with a WARN ZEON 12-S winch, giving the 300 the kind of recovery confidence you want when the track gets less friendly. Communications are handled through a GME XRS UHF with a dash passthrough, keeping the cab uncluttered.

Inside, Everything Has a Place

Stepping inside the canopy, the layout is simple: everything you touch is practical, intentional, and trimmed in marine carpet for quietness and insulation.

The left side houses the white powder-coated slide-out kitchen, built around the Westinghouse twin induction cooktop and supported by a carpeted surround that blends into the wall. Behind it sits the Bushman 130 L upright fridge – plenty of capacity without compromising walkway space.

Opposite the kitchen, the Power Tower becomes the structural and electrical heart of the fit-out. It surrounds the fridge, houses the lithium system, and carries all major components in one clean, serviceable stack. The wiring is hidden, the switches are neatly framed, and the panels feel integrated rather than “added on.” Three dimmable orange/white lights run the full length of the canopy, keeping the ambience soft at night and bright when you’re working.

Everything is built to be used daily: strong hinges, smooth slides, and surfaces that won’t rattle themselves loose on corrugations.

Power & Systems

This build runs a 310 Ah ultra-slim lithium battery, chosen for its compact footprint and high discharge capability – perfect for induction cooking, refrigeration and comms.
Feeding that battery is a full Redarc suite: Manager 30, TVMS Prime, and Redvision screen, tied together with a 3000 W inverter for mains appliances. Two 190 W solar panels mounted to the carry bars top up the system consistently, giving the vehicle genuine independence on long stays.

240V power is handled through an Enerdrive CMS kit, with GPOs positioned on both sides of the canopy so no appliance is ever out of reach. USB-C PD, Anderson and cig sockets sit on the Power Tower, while a dedicated Engel socket supports the kitchen.

Connectivity was built in from day one. The Starlink Mini socket, wiring and mount integrate cleanly into the canopy wall, allowing the system to run directly off the vehicle’s DC supply – no loose adaptors, no mess.

Safety rounds out the electrical system: door alarms, central locking, and dual Safety Dave cameras all tied into the canopy wiring and vehicle monitor.

The Result

What rolls out is a Dusty Bronze 300 Dual Cab that feels composed, capable and thoughtfully refined.
It’s not loud or overbuilt – it’s tidy, efficient and well-balanced, with all the power and storage required for long-range travel and none of the unnecessary fluff.

It’s a tourer built for people who go further than the rest – and stay longer when they get there.
