LandCruiser 300 Series VX

Extended, Evolved, Exceptional

When a 300 Series goes through a Creative Conversions 800 mm chassis extension, it stops being just a wagon — it becomes a platform.
This build takes that extended capability and matches it with a full-time, chassis-mounted aluminium canopy designed for touring comfort, and off-grid power – all wrapped in Graphite with a finish that looks like Toyota built it this way.

Why we built it this way

The 300 Series has the torque and traction to go anywhere; our job was to make sure it could stay there. The canopy runs our extruded aluminium space-frame design, locked to the chassis for strength without weight. We matched the factory Graphite paint with a Raptor-coated frame and accessories, body-colour doors, and powder-coated carry bars for contrast. The result: a clean, symmetrical build that balances storage, systems and style — built for serious off-road range with the comfort of a high-end tourer.

Stand-out features

Sized at L 2000 mm × W 1960 mm × H 970 mm, the canopy sits level with the roof rack and flows with the extended cab lines. Twin full-width opening doors with remote central locking make access easy from either side, while four under-tray toolboxes, a 100 L custom water tank, and vented airflow handle the practical side. We integrated LED sequential tail lights, flared guards, lockable jerry can and spare-wheel carriers, plus a swing-out drop-down ladder and rear visor with dual ATOM 25 W work lamps for easy setup after dark. A Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform ties everything overhead, supporting the Bushwakka Penthouse Tourer Pack with roof-top tent, 270° awning, ensuite, and 200 W solar panel.

Inside, it’s a touring dream.
The left side runs a black-powder-coated slide-out kitchen with Westinghouse twin induction cooktop, a Bushman 130 L upright fridge, and a pantry with Travel Buddy oven.
Above sits a lockable storage box, below runs marine-carpeted drawers, and on the right, a Evakool DC40 drawer fridge/freezer slots between front and rear drawers — all 325 mm high for uniform load space.
The rear section adds a mesh ceiling rack for lightweight gear, while every surface is finished in marine carpet for a quiet, premium interior.

Power & Systems

Power comes from a 450 Ah lithium system housed in a marine-carpeted power tower that also frames the fridge. It runs a Redarc Manager 30, TVMS Prime controller, 3000 W inverter, solar regulator, 240 V inlet/outlet wiring, and dual Alvolta 160 W panels — all feeding through Anderson plugs, USB-C, and 12 V sockets. Lighting is handled with Korr 100 cm orange/white dimmable strips (four in total) and the work area’s backed by dual 25 W LED floods on the visor. Hot water’s on tap with an Aqueous 6 L 12 V system, plumbed to the 100 L tank and external shower rose.
We integrated dual water pumps — one for onboard pressure, one for creek feed — so this rig can refill itself off the grid.

Comms and safety gear top it off: A Safety Dave dual camera system, Ultra Vision 180 W LED driving lights, Offroad Animal Predator bull bar, and a Uniden Xtrak 80 Pro UHF with folding aerial all make the 300 a genuine tour-ready command centre.

The Result

A 300 Series that’s evolved from capable to complete — clean lines, hidden systems, and off-grid power that feels factory-integrated. Every inch earns its keep: sleep, cook, shower, and drive without compromise. Extended, evolved, and exceptional — this 300 Series is the new benchmark.
